I have to say, I never imagined that I would get to travel so much in my lifetime.
When I was growing up, I didn’t come from a family that went on many vacations or took road trips together. In fact, I feel like I barely made it out of my home state in my childhood and adolescence. Most of my travel really started after I became an adult. Surprisingly, it was after getting a demanding full-time job that I found myself more capable to travel than ever. You see, when I graduated from high school I decided to go into the heating, cooling, and air quality control industry. It turns out, being a heating, cooling, and ventilation specialist is a very stable and lucrative job. Even more importantly, people are always glad to have you at their home when you know how heating, cooling, and air handling devices work. Whenever I’m in the mood to get out of town I don’t have to worry about booking an expensive hotel. I can just call up one of my friends and they are more than happy to have their heating and cooling technician buddy stay at their house. Whenever I get to somebody’s home they have a couple of air quality and air temperature management questions for me. I really don’t mind sitting down and talking to them about energy efficiency, high quality air filters, and potential HVAC upgrades that they could consider. In my mind, free HVAC advice is a small price to pay in exchange for a roof over my head.
