The holidays are a time for friends and memories.
I prefer being at my home during the holidays, with the snow falling and being wrapped in a blanked on the couch.
I prefer the fireplace with its light illuminating off of the walls and ceiling, making my whole residing room glow. There are days where I come in freezing from outside. I will immediately take off my snowy clothes, dress in my sweatpants and sweatshirt and immediately rest in front of the fireplace. I’ll grab a book or magazine and turn my TV on… During the holidays I will utilize my fireplace more than my heating system. Once the holidays are over I’ll switch over and use my heating system more. I do this because I don’t like going out to the shed and lugging out firewood in the freezing cold. I also like how my heating system burns more cleanly than my fireplace! Periodically I can see soot on my furniture surfaces… And I don’t like having to polish my wood furniture every time I turn my fireplace off. To keep using my heating system throughout the freezing winter I like to call my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider before the winter starts to have him service it. I make sure that my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system is running efficiently so I’m not stuck in the middle of winter without a source of heat. My Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker makes sure that my air filter is disinfect and changed, that my air duct isn’t dirty and it’s sealed officially. I would dislike to come inside from the freezing outdoors and not have heat. Then I would have to resort to my fireplace that leaves soot everywhere.
