I brag all winter long. Heat pump in the south.

Whenever I come home and visit my family they try to convince me that it would be a wise idea to move back to the Midwest.

Honestly, they only feel this way because they’ve never lived anywhere outside of the state.

It’s easy to think that you are living in the best location when you refuse to venture to any foreign places. Personally, I’m more than happy living down in the semi-tropical now, mostly because it means I get to avoid winter. I’m not a fan of ice air cold air, snow, or ice. I don’t need to rely on my central heating system for 8 months out of the year. I don’t enjoy the feeling of walking into sub-zero temperatures and struggling to survive in the bitter cold. I also don’t appreciate handing all of my money over to the Energy company for an inefficient forced air furnace that barely manages to keep my indoor air quality steady or comfortable. That’s why, I like to return my family’s nonsense by bragging about my super eco-friendly heat pump down south. The air temperature is so moderate all winter long that I can actually rely on a geothermal heat pump for all of my central heating needs. This means, I don’t need to pay the energy company a single dime because I am relying on the passive energy transfer from deep underground into my home. It effectively heats my house without requiring a single space heater or furnace to be operated all winter long. When my family tries to shove their ideals in my face, I just show them my energy bill.
