Whenever I come condo & visit my family they try to convince me that it would be a wise idea to transfer back to the Midwest.
Honestly, they only feel this way because they’ve never lived anywhere outside of the state. It’s simple to suppose that you are living in the best location when you refuse to venture to any foreign locales, then personally, I am more than cheerful living down in the semi-tropical now, mostly because it means I get to avoid winter. I am not a fan of ice air cold air, snow, or ice. I don’t need to rely on my central boiler for 8 months out of the year. I don’t adore the feeling of walking into sub-zero temperatures & struggling to survive in the bitter cold. I also don’t appreciate handing all of my currency over to the Energy supplier for an inefficient forced air boiler that barely manages to keep my indoor air quality steady or comfortable. That’s why, I like to return my family’s nonsense by bragging about my super eco-friendly heat pump down south. The air temperature is so mediocre all winter season long that I can absolutely rely on a geothermal heat pump for all of my central heating needs. This means, I don’t need to pay the energy supplier a single dime because I am relying on the passive energy transfer from deep underground into my home. It effectively heats my cabin separate from requiring a single space heating system or boiler to be operated all winter season long. When my family tries to shove their ideals in my face, I just show them my energy bill.
