I have lived in honestly warm and honestly frigid climates.
I have experienced a snowstorm, two hurricanes, a flood, a tornado and about every type of serious weather that you can know of.
I regularly seem to have to adjust my house when it comes to facing these types of weather conditions. When there’s a hurricane I like to take all of the furniture away from the windows. I like to board up my windows with wood. During a snowstorm I make sure that my Heating and A/C system is prepped and ready to go to take on the winner. I do not want to have to be stuck in the middle of a snowstorm and have no heat in my house for a few afternoons because my Heating and A/C system failed on me. When there was a flood I had to make sure that I moved my lavish and most important items of mine to my second floor of my home. During a tornado I had to make sure that my windows were all boarded up and my family and I were protected and safe. My friend and I would go downstairs in our basement and stay away from windows and doors and hide in the corner… Facing these odd weather conditions have allowed me to become more expertiseable about my home. For example I have been much more expertiseable with my Heating and A/C system since I have had to program my thermostat to match the weather conditions outside. Being able to know which temperature is better in my home whether it’s frigid or warm outside has allowed me to save money and energy.
