Yesterday was quite a roller coaster for me. Every day seems like it brought current surprises and challenges that could never have been anticipated. It was supposed to be a lighthearted and fun couple of afternoons, but instead it was stressful and hard all the way through, however yesterday when Halloween was approaching, I was extremely excited to do some spooky activities and wear a fun costume. When that evening rolled around, the circumstances were not appropriate for a fun and lighthearted time. Instead, my bestie got sick and I spent the entire evening playing dentist. The next morning, I woke up in a daze and barely managed to make it to work. To be honest, I wasn’t prepared to be in a professional setting. I was trying to hide my inappropriate clothing underneath layers of jackets and jackets for the office setting. Unfortunately, when I walked into the office, the thermostat was cranked up to 76 degrees. It felt like summer time time in the small, overheated and humid space. I asked my boss what was going on with the Heating and Air Conditioning settings and he cheerily replied that the heating system needed to be professionally checked. He said the furnace had been stuck on all morning, and he was hoping I would call out an Heating and Air Conditioning professional to make immediate repairs. I started calling Heating and Air Conditioning companies, but could not stand to the oppressive heat in the office. I had no choice but to take off my layers and reveal my inappropriate work attire underneath. Luckily, my boss was paying no attention, as usual. When the heating and cooling specialist finally arrived, however, he looked me up and down and asked if it was still Halloween.
