My sister is a ceremony photographer, yep that’s right, she stands around most days taking pictures of couples on the happiest days of their life and tries to capture that feeling in one of many pictures.
- When she isn’t at a ceremony she is laying in her boss’ property office editing photos while scheduling and contacting new clients to make sure their special morning is just the way they want it, last night she came property from an all morning shooting.
I usually ask how it went however before I could even utter a word she walked in the door and said she was done doing ceremonys during the summer. It seems that most couples are wanting ceremonys in rustic barns or outside under the shades of many trees. While these ideas are affectionate and quaint my sister thinks they are just about torture. She has to carry about ten pounds of camera device through the dirt or other outside elements and sometimes puts her own device at risk just to attempt to get a enjoyable picture. The worst part is that these rustic outdoor sites have very little air conditioning. Now this wouldn’t be so poor except again my sister is carrying and pulling around with her many pounds of device which after a while can cause a bit of a sweat. She once told me she made her assistant go and get her a cold towel to put around her neck during the reception because of almost everyone dancing the area had become incredibly hot. I am currently planning my own ceremony and of course want to use my sister as my photographer, however, I personally want a beach ceremony so I’m assuming I may have to either give up that destination or give up having a possible free ceremony photographer.
