We love our photographer

My sister is a wedding photographer. Yep that’s right, she stands around most days taking pictures of couples on the happiest days of their life and tries to capture that feeling in one of many pictures. When she isn’t at a wedding she is sitting in her boss’ home office editing photos while scheduling and contacting new clients to make sure their special day is just the way they want it. Last night she came home from an all day shooting. I usually ask how it went but before I could even utter a word she walked in the door and said she was done doing weddings during the summer. It seems that most couples are wanting weddings in rustic barns or outside under the shades of many trees. While these ideas are romantic and quaint my sister thinks they are just about torture. She has to carry about ten pounds of camera equipment through the dirt or other outside elements and sometimes puts her own equipment at risk just to attempt to get a good picture. The worst part is that these rustic outdoor places have very little air conditioning. Now this wouldn’t be so bad except again my sister is carrying and pulling around with her multiple pounds of equipment which after a while can cause a bit of a sweat. She once told me she made her assistant go and get her a cold towel to put around her neck during the reception because of all the people dancing the area had become incredibly hot. I am currently planning my own wedding and of course want to use my sister as my photographer, however, I personally want a beach wedding so I’m assuming I may have to either give up that destination or give up having a possible free wedding photographer.
