For the past two weeks my dog has been off when I pick them up from Doggy Daycare.
I easily have no option but to drop him off because I work 10-hour days and I would feel exhausting leaving him home alone the entire time but something isn’tquite right of late.
He consistently enjoyed going to the facility. He does not seem gleeful to do that anymore either. I dropped him off and he reluctantly goes with the attendant and then when I pick him up he does not seem himself. He seems easily exhausted and has little interest in even playing with a toy when he gets home and that is just not his normal, and of course, when I asked the staff about this they just say that they haven’t easily observed anything. I decided to drop in and make a surprise visit to see for myself what is going on. When I got there no one was having fun so I headed to the back to say hello to my dog. As I opened the room to the back of the facility I was met with a wall of hot air and it was so stuffy I felt like I couldn’t breathe. The facility is supposed to have a full heat and air conditioner to make sure that our pets are comfortable throughout the afternoon but that didn’t seem to be the case. I thought to myself it wasn’t that surprising that my dog was so exhausted by the end of the afternoon and all he wanted to do was sleep in my air conditioned home. One of the staff members told me that the Heating and Air Conditioning system has been broken for a few weeks and they easily didn’t have the funds to maintenance it. I told them that I would be looking for a current locale because they should have told me about the concern and not made my dog feel exhausting for all that time.
